Apparently it was a burst fuel hose

Saw the pics on fb but this happened in Thursday from what I've been led to believe

That was my thought when I saw it, a serious weak point on 2WD cars.

Happened to my mates 2wd saph, luckily they were just coming back from shopping and had loadsa bottles of water and doctor pepper in the back. Fitted a fire extinguisher after he fixed it. Should have know with dp in the back, what's the worst that can happen?

I don't think that could be rebuilt , the heat would have wreaked the shell , you can see the tailgate gap on the passenger rear quarter . Sad sight

Anybody remember a very old max power mag with the French yellow escort cosworth in it,iirc a woman who was involved with a car magazine owned it.
It had been burnt to a crisp and that was supposedly rebuilt into the car that was featured using its original burnt shell.
I have had a couple of cars burnt out and there's no way you would consider using a burnt shell as everything goes out of shape due to heat,plus the mess of broken glass/plastic.
