Default FOCUS ST 225 2006. Your assistance please

Hi guys.

I am having trouble with my central locking not working. I have tried many many suggestions. Tried re-programming the key, tried buying a new key and re programming that one, tried unplugging the battery, I just don't know what to do now. Any suggestions? Or has anyone else had this issue? I can lock the car, but only by putting the key in the door. It literally will not pick up a signal.

Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

£10 + http://www.focusstoc.com/forums = your be glad ya did

Right jump in car, on indicator stalk hold the reset at same time turn key to 2nd click display will flash up test mod, 1st it will do a gauge sweep, then using scroll keep flicking till u come too DTC an under them letters it should say #NONE.... so least u can rule out its not a spot specific fault.

After that, are u sure fob battery ok??

Not sure where the alarm pick up is in car, THINK its around interior light cluster but could be that...

Follow my above link, best £10 you wil spend on the ST

Thanks for your response. I did this earlier funny enough, and got the DTC code DTC #01 9601 (no idea what this means) another annoying thing about this is the fact once I've locked the car I have to quickly turn the key in the ignition before the alarm goes off! I have tried the key fob battery, but still had the same issue.

9601 PATS Received Incorrect Key-Code From Ignition Key Transponder (Unprogrammed Encoded Ignition Key

did you code the key yourself or someone else?

Iirc from what I've heard ford themselves need too clear the ECU of keys
that have previously been coded..(say if lost/stolen).. And then they code it.

My advice is get membership, or get too Ford fella, as for all their faults
they have THE CORRECT TOOLS for the job...

Just outta interest when u do the search I suggested in my first post, scroll
through and find ya voltage reading..should be 12.4 or above!!

Again if battery/alternator faulty its cause hell with the ST.....

Fantastic! Better advice than the mechanic I went too about it the other day, he was under the impression I needed a new instrument cluster! At an expense of £700, I did try and code the key myself. Although it is the original key for the car, it just randomly stopped working. Think I'll take it to ford. Thanks for your help buddy, but yeah the battery voltage was around 12.6 so no issue there. I really do appreciate your help.
