I've just joined up here as I'm looking for some tips on putting an st170 head onto a silvertop bottom end. I currently have a black top head fitted so in looking to fit the st170 head to my fully forged hi comp silvertop bottom end. I will be using an electric water pump but I'm wondering if anyone can confirm exactly what needs to be done to the tensioner, pics would be helpful cheers

 

my mate done this in his mk1 escort , need to make a custom cam belt tensioner for it , and lock out the vvt on the inlet cam , ill see if i can find some pics from when he done it

 

Should bolt on with the set up you have for the blacktop head . Just the vvt to decide what to do with .

Also not sure what it will do the the comp ratio.
