Borg Warner EFR 6258?
Has anyone fitted the 6258 to a YB Cossie engine? I'm looking into getting one after deciding the twin scroll 7064 would be overkill for what I want. Does anyone know what is needed to convert from a T34.63?

As above, speak to Mark but if you are on a T34 with a 63 then the 7064 will not be overkill...you don't have to wind the boost up and it will spool much faster than what you have now, it will be night and day. I went t34 to 7064 but I didn't have the big 63 on mine and it still spools up faster. Mine made 468bhp on a std engine but you don't need to have so much boost if you don't want it. I think the smaller one is now twin scroll but it is the twin scroll and the manifold to run it where the magic happens....if you can get both with the smaller one then I bet that will be impressive.
Thanks Rod. Should have read it properly.
Anyone have any pics manifold and turbo. Need to gauge size as its not going in a cossie.

They do come up for sale on rare occasions. Mark will be able to tell you prices. Just google Mark Shead and his number comes up. Just bear in mind that you will need someone to map it to the car and they make a lot of torque low down so either get the mapper to be conservative for your running gear or get ready for a new box and diff if a 4x4. Mine was a low mile box and it didn't make 500 miles of low boost use.

Diffs are normally no problem.

Yes, very true...I am not moaning. I have seen many posts with people moaning about weak Cossie running gear but the car left ford with relatively modest power and the engine is easy to tune but people don't invest in the box to cope.
What info do you need? It's a YB 205 block rebuilt within the last 10000 miles with 4x4 Pistons. Standard gearbox and diff, Pro alloy Rs500 style intercooler. Running L6 management live mapped to 32psi peak on a hybrid T34.63. I would rather go down to around 350bhp with better spool.
It's a 2wd as well.

Trouble is Rich if your only after 350bhp you will be paying ££££'s for what? Less lag why not go for a 48 housing on what u have?
Just a idea? Whats the rest of your cars spec? Suspension, tyres etc will make more drivable car imo.

Your missing the increase in Torque from the Borg its not just about lag. It may start to spool at the same time but the Borg car will then just disappear up the road. 350bhp is peak Power it tells you nothing about how it gets there.
Good point. I haven't got anything set in stone but that's partly why I don't want a 7064 as it isn't just the 3k in turbo and manifold, it's the things that it is going to put extra strain on, it needs a good updated diff to start with.
I have looked around and the 6258 is about 1300 quid so if I didn't need a new manifold I would probably go for it, if it isn't compatible with the 6258 then I may as well leave it for now. Save up and go twin scroll hopefully next year. I've heard the twin scroll manifold is arbour 1300, is that about right? Is the twin scroll manifold compatible with the full EFR range? (6258 twin up to the 9180?)

Exactly, just seeing if anyone has tried the single scroll version of the 6258?
Cheers

The versions you are asking about do not come in T3 flange fitment.
Mark
Thanks for answering that Mark. Looks like save up for a 7064 Twin although I have noticed that does come in T3 figment. But there probably isn't much point in changing from a T34 to a single scroll 7064 as I wouldn't have thought the spool is that much better?
