Default 2wd front wheel bearings

hi all i have been restoring my 2wd sapphire cosworth i have replaced the front wheel bearings with fag bearings from matt lewis now with the nut torqued up to 300nm there is still play in the hub and is worse when the wheel is on could i have the wrong bearings? it seems the nut runs out of thread before its tight enough the play is not alot but with the wheel fitted its quite alot any ideas would be great thankyou

Did the ABS disc engage the splines on the stub. you may need new disc as tightening the nut will have damaged the splines on the stub and the disc

hi no the splines are fine they lock in perfect im sure its the bearings it is a straight forward job to do done it before you just cant seem to get the slack out thanks for the reply

If you remove the new bearings and measure their overall thickness, I bet you'll find one or both are only 17mm thick. They both should be 19mm thick. If not, you've been supplied with the wrong bearings.
