Default Escort rs turbo RHD to LHD conversion ?

Hi has anyone done a rhd to lhd conversion on a mk4 escort. i live abroad crashed my series 2 and bent the roof [stupid i know]. i found a right hand drive shell which is coming over from uk but not to sure on the easiest way to do the conversion iv got all the bits off my left hand drive so dont need any parts any ideas ? Thanks any help would be much appreciated.

fairly easy to do. I would cut the bulkhead out and fit your one from lhd cut slightly small and fit larger one from yours. seam weld and seal in and out side. will be stronger than factory.


or if u look hard enough you may find a proper lhd erst shell

Ye your right about looking harder mate i sort of just rushed into it when i pranged mine i wasnt thinking strait bloody devastated . When i had sort of got over it i realized i should have looked a bit harder for a left hooker but anyway its on its way now everything but the engine thanks for your help mate gonna have a good look at my bulkhead now see if its been touched hope its good

You'll have all the bits and a shell for reference there originally A lhd car hence the master cylinder being on the left and having a bar to the right to move it (on rhd cars) just don't get rid of your car until the new shell arrives

a very good friend of mine has his sunseeker ploted up in spain somewhere (porta banous) not the correct spelling obviously just sounds like it. Anyway he has a contact with a breaker yard who has mk4 escorts there as I had the green opening rears out of it. If you need a shell might be worth chatting with him.

I know spain is massive so might not be on your door step
