Default One of the many reasons I don't like using old Ford EFI....

.... Fucked about with looms!

This was removed from a Fiesta and fitted as the customer found it to his Escort believing it to all be as it should.

The Coil pack suppressor is plugged into the Amal valve wiring/connector
Two giveaways here... Firstly the suppressor connector only has one wire to it not two and secondly one of the pins it rotated 90deg making it hard to actually push the wrong plug on oh and of course it should be over the other side of the engine bay teed off of the coil pack live too.
The loom was cut and joined (for no obvious reason) 3" from the Amal plug and the coil pack wiring has also been cut and joined with no sign of the suppressor wiring anywhere.

If you are fitting old Ford EFI management be it OFAB, OFAC or Cossie please be sure it's all correct or you will be always chasing problems.

Thats pretty lol, how much grief did that give you? BTW, if you have the amal valve connector you don't need to add any other wires to the loom if you are installing a boost solenoid on OFAM, forgot to tell you that the other day but you have probably worked it out.

Rob,
Enough!
Yeah I did realise when reading the docs, but with the wiring being where it is (loom has been stripped and reassembled badly at some point) it was actually quicker to just run fresh, plus I didn't know until I realised what was going on here! lol

Over engineered boost gauge take off I think, I've not actually looked at it yet as getting it running right is first on the list.

Unnecessarily long wiring is one of my pet hates. Was working on my mk1 golf and it had that lovely 80s install fitted....

I hate crimp through connectors and scotchlocks. Solder and heatshrink all the way!

Damn right. I hate crimp connectors for the hassle they seem to cause, although for a short term fix they are OK (I.e a roadside repair).

Another one I had yesterday....
Engine RPM was randomly unstable, one minute it was fine the next it was all over the place in a rhythmic fashion!
This ICV wiring had been cut and then twisted and taped together badly (not even extended, just cut and rejoined in exactly the same place?!) and as the engine vibrated the connection was open...closed...open...closed so the idle valve was also open...closed...open..closed!

Whats your problem mate? seriously.

Every other tuner/user on here either stays in the back ground and holds their comments or logs on and makes helpful posts. They never make snide digs intended to harm some one else's business or bad mouth each other like kids.

Grow up as this kind of behaviour is simply below you. The unfortunate thing as I have already said is that you are clearly an clever guy with some interesting ideas and a lot of know how, in other circumstances you would have been an interesting fellow to chat with. But stuff like this just puts you in a bad light.

It was just another example of poor wiring that causes problems for people, no praise necessary

Rob is correct though, all you seem to do recently is put people down, both customers and other people in the trade.... you really don't come across well at all, need I remind you of the Cossie management discussion with James @ MSD?

No mate, I was actually referring to the part where you insulted the customer and accused him of lying, then made statements about James and Stu... only for James to come along and put you in your place, I can quote if you don't remember?

But yes ok enough, it doesn't really help anyone.

Then you will probably have no or little problems and can just plug and play!
All the sensors can be tested of course but if the car is running fine, cold and hot start are good, throttle response is good, stable idle, smooth boost etc. I would just get the ECU and drop the car to your chosen tuner for mapping, they will soon see if there are any issues once the ECU is installed anyway.
