Default Efi turbo misfire issue

Hi,

So I have an efi turbo on 701 injectors and 195 chip.

It's missing and juddering mainly around 2k revs.

Tried, leads and plugs. Ecu, map, Co pot.

All the same issue.

I need to get it set up as it's my project but I don't think a set up of fuel pressure and Co pot would change the misfire.

It's mainly around 2k and isn't as bad if you hold 3k and so on. If doesn't misfire if you put your foot down.

Any idea? Would a coil pack cause this issue? Or would that be all the time and the same?

Electrical faults are often intermittent, could be your coil pack, could also be your CPS.

Thanks.

I was also told that it could be the cam. What's the best way to check it for wear?

If it was the cam it would run rough all the time (unless you have an intermittent sticky lifter), ideally remove it to measure and inspect it.

Odd that it's ok if you put your foot down, perhaps the TPS is at fault.

So I checked it today and it's missing all through the Rev range.

Tried...
Tps
Cps
Map
Ecu
Co pot
Edit
Leads
Plugs
Coil pack

Just a constant misfire

Oh! It will most likely be a lean misfire then, this is why changing all the parts you like will not fix it, get the correct chip/map or you may destroy your engine.

Something will be different on your friends setup mate, a chip for a 1.6 on a T2 will be lean on anything bigger, maybe his fuel pressure has been upped to compensate (not ideal but better than nothing).

Lean missfire. Install an AFR gauge an laugh when you see what AFR the car is running at 2000RPM for a lean missfire to happen at such low RPM and load.

Had a customer recently suffering from something similar, 17:1 afr at 2000 rpm and 15:1 AFR on boost..... not ideal.

Different ecu and a remap. You could achieve the same with a different chip which had a map for your setup, maybe talk to MSD to see if they offer one.
