Anyone know the thinest gasket available for a 2 litre blacktop
think i messed up my turbo engine when put it back together
currently fitted with 8.5 compression Je pistons and a 1.4 mm gasket
which i think may have dropped compression way to low

Also if anyone is good at maths is thers anyway of working out how much i can raise compression by fitting gasket say .5mm thiner?

 

sure victor reinz do a 0.8mm gasket, have a look at focus rs Mk1 gaskets. afaik there are compression ratio calculators online.

 

St170 4 layer is what you want, it's 0.8 or 0.7?

 

Standard 2.0 and focus rs are both 0.6mm st170 is 1.1mm and there is a 1.8mm gasket for skimmed heads

 

Off the top of my head would be about half a compression on a zetec engine
