Not been on here for donkeys years as I've been a VW/Honda owner recently.

Anyway, currently in a financial position where I can finally own a brand new car. Looking at my requirements I've narrowed it down to the 2015 Focus ST and the Leon Cupra.

Is there any chance anyone on here has driven both? After some 1 vs the other feedback. I'm due a test drive in each over the next few weeks, went into both dealers over the weekend but neither had a demo car available.

From first impressions, just looking around the cars, I prefer the looks of the ST, but it didn't seem as well put together as the Seat, panel gaps and general fit/finish etc, also all colours but the solids seem to have orange peel, not so much an issue for me as I think I'd go for the Stealth in the Focus anyway. Looking at the finance figures the ST is cheaper monthly payments, but with a higher balloon payment at the end, not sure which I'd prefer in that respect tbh. In terms of running costs I think the Leon would be better on fuel, but things like brakes and tyres would be more, infact with the Leon having 19's the tyres are around 40-50% more expensive! I also get 2yrs free servicing on the Ford, as I work for a 'preferred partner' company.

0-60 times don't concern me, more interested in rolling acceleration, and general road comfort/holding is more important than how well it would handle corners @ full tilt, most of the time I'll have my missus and 1yr old in the car.

Anyway, enough rambling. Just wondered if anyone had any experience they could share with me prior to my test drives.
