How daft do you have to be with the camera in view of the windscreen:

Whilst I don't condone speeding, I watched the video on the link and I think the whole thing appears to have been blown out of proportion. I thought the car was going to have been ragged, wheel spun etc. I'm under no ilusinon that my cars have probably been driven hard when given to a mechanic in the past.

I once got work done for free if I was OK to let the mechanic have a good squirt in the car. (Was a main Vauxhall garage and they hadn't had a cavalier turbo in for along time). Suited me lol, drove it no harder than I could.
A few years ago I had a car in for MOT, I was taking a wander through town and saw my car flying round the corner, went up to the garage and a few minutes later one of the mechanics came back with a sandwich and a newspaper the cheeky coont lol.

When I was living daan sarf I used to knock about with a few lads that worked for this well known fast fit garage and they would always have tales about ripping the arse off of anything a bit tasty on a 'test drive'.
tbh, think this has been blown out of proportion, as a mechanic, its quite frequent to be told, the car makes a noise under certain conditions, please can you fix it. now without hearing the noise it is nigh impossible to replicate the fault/noise on a ramp under no load situations. now i appreciate that the customer in this instance has been outraged by his breach of trust etc etc, but it was booked into a garage for a service and mot, road testing isnt the end of the world and is fairly common, i dont condone speeding but other than the speed i see he isnt being silly with ragging it about etc.
i have in the past been asked to investigate noises that the customer says only happens at well over the speed limits and yet when you tell the customer they shouldnt be travelling at such speeds you get a death stare.
i have also been driver and passenger in road live mapped cars and sat next to some very well respected tuners etc at well over the speed limit on a private track obviously.

Fuck me that's been blown out of all proportion. Mechanics were caught swearing, shock horror! It's a garage for cryin out loud. And of course he was entitled to test drive it, u have to test drive a car before u service it so u know if there's any knocks or rattles etc to investigate. Bloody ridiculous
