Hi. Well today I was taken home courtesy of the AA. Car started to over heat. I quickly sussed it was the water pump. Got myself a new one. Stripped off the old one and the shaft that drives it was stripped. Common issue I'm told. But what I want to know is. If I fit the new one will the power steering pump just strip it again? I'm assuming its gonna be worn were the shaft sits. Or is all the damage just to the water pump?? Water pump wasn't cheap. A pas even less so. But not wanting to fit it just to happen again. Ta for any help you can give. Car is a mk3 tdci.
