I've got a mk3 mondeo but I've had a persistent problem with my remote keyfob and I am now thinking of replacing it. As getting a new key cut seems to cost silly money I was wondering if anyone else has done this and if it will work? I know how to programme the fob so if I were to buy a blank remote keyfob and put my key bit into the new remote fob and then programme it will that work?

If you can also swap over the "Dog Chip" that will make life easier then just program the remote to the car.
