Thanks very much. Also does anyone know if it is possible to buy standard inlet and exhaust valves with an oversized valve stem?

Cheers.

Why would you want such a thing ?

Cant imagine it's something Ford would ever have offered.

It seems unlikely. Rather than over boring worn valve guides to take a bigger valve stem, just replace the worn guides.

I have been told that removing old guides there is a very big chance that you would damage the guide bores on removal. Is there a preferred method of removing the guides avoiding scuffing/damage?

Cheers.

Yes.

Give head to machine shop. Tell them to fix it. Get head back.

That's my preferred method lol

never had a problem replacing cossie guides yet. There is another method used which puts a bronze sleeve inside the guide, but i wouldn't bother on a cossie when the guides are easily and cheaply replaced. As long as you use a good machine shop, you shouldn't have an issue.
