Default Mk3 fiesta 1.3 conversion to a 1.6 zetec s engine ? Need info!

Basically cut the story short, I have a mk3 fiesta sapphire 1.3 injection (1995) model. Iv been offered a 2002 ford fiesta zetec s and I wish to do an engine conversion. Iv also been offered a 1.6 16v cvh head with racing cams in it, do anyone on here know if this is a pretty stright forward job to swap it all over as in the 1.6 in the mk3 and running ? Fitting the cvh head is for later on. Any info in doing this would be a big help!

Ive never seen a zetec s swap intoa mk3 fiesta before, but it is possible.

1.6 CVH is nothing like the 1.6 zetec S engine so isnt compatible.

Default fiesta mk3.5

Well I'm off to see one tonight, I'll size things up and hopefully it's stright forward, and cvh head swap, I was just told that they would switch, you wouldn't think so but I was just going off what I'm slowly learning, but I seem to be getting told a load of porkies, I also can get my hands on a 1.7 puma but Wich one will be easier to change I don't know

Didn't the mk3.5 si come with a 1.6 zetec anyway? So it shouldn't be too hard to do.

Default fiesta mk3.5

I'm not to sure mate, but I'm pretty sure once I have zetec s striped I'll be ok, i did have one a while ago and didn't think much of it in power, but before that I had a 106 gti so that kind of didn't help. I'm hoping to do the conversion and hopefully put a nice set of cams in to give it that bit more edge

Ai I know that anything is pretty much possible but all I basically want to know is what parts i need, I done plenty of engine swaps in my time but I like to have everything ready so there's no arsin around lol, so if bendy bolts are needed then so be it haha

Be easier and probably cheaper all round to up the capacity and fit a silvertop 2 litre from a Mondeo. Oddly probably cheaper to insure too as the motor isn't from a warm hatch

To be honest mate, trying to get a hold of one by me is like trying to drain sap from a tree, I have considered it but get a hold of every part takes the micky

I'd just keep the Zs as it is instead of putting that lump in a mark 3. Zs would handle better from the off anyway

Actually looking around there are loads of mk5 Zetec S Fiestas about for under a grand, there really is no point to persuing the conversion as is.

Default 1.6 conversion

Hi guys haven't wrote in a while, my 1.3 decided to have enough the other day :/ so Iv had to scramble everything together. Picked up a 1.6 16v si lump with full engine loom and car loom. Got the engine in, just trying to run the loom! Such a ball ache! Any info on this loom running would be a great help

Cheers buddy, Fingers crossed I'll have it done and finished by tomorrow and running, going to start hunting for a 2.0l silvertop then and take the fiesta off the road and get it resprayed and sort the tiny bit of welding i have found, because it's a rep I don't see the point in trying to go original, so I'm just going to put my own mark on the car

Ye go for it with making it your own. I will eventually be giving my mk4 fiesta a load of attention and turning into a project, but had plenty of haters saying why bother with a mk4 when its ugly etc. Keep thinking "oh you have an opinion on my life, tell me which of my bills you'll be paying this month"
