Mk4 escort fwd,rwd or 4wd ???
Hi I'm new to the forum and just looking for some advise/opinions, I got a mk4 escort that was my first car when I passed my test I'm never selling the car for aslong as I live it really means a lot to me I'm planning on restoring it soon and I'm intrested in developing it to maybe 4wd or rwd what are people's oppions on this ? I'm not looking to race it or take it on track days I just want it to be my pride enjoy that I can have a bit of fun with newer more expensive cars at the traffic lights really ! The only reason I'm not keen on staying with fwd is the car had a 200bhp cvh turbo and it used to struggle getting the power down with that ? Is there a way I can make it rapid off the lights and stick to fwd or am I better off converting it ? Also if I go rwd what's best to use sierra tunnel and diff or something like a 6 link atlas axle, I know people might say sell it buy a cosworth that's not the point I'm getting at I own a 3door cosworth and a mk1 escort I just want to make a car that I love even better so any help or oppions would be very much appreciated ! Thanks
I do love a mk3/4 rwd escort. The most popular convertion consists of sierra running gear. Some people make the sierra floor and turrets fit the escort body, some modify the standard escort floor and turrets to except the running gear. Either way it's a lot of work but I'm sure it's well worth it
plus you can fit whatever engine you want... 600bhp Volvo 5 cylinder turbo should do nicely

Thanks for the reply mate, been doing a bit of research on it myself and I think I'm defiantly going to have it either rwd or 4wd and cosworth powered, just can't decide on witch but after watching videos of a blue mk3 escort going down the drag strip It might have to be 4wd aha !
