Hi I have a 2006 Mondeo 2.0 TDCi which has developed a fault when starting first thing in the morning only.

The engine cranks ok

But it won't start unless i spray some brake cleaner into the air filter.

The rest of the day it will start without a hitch.

I have replaced and checked the heater plugs - Working fine

Replaced the deisel filter - Primed ok

On the odd occasion the glow plug light comes on and the engine dies, no matter what speed i am doing. but this has only happened a couple of times.

Read for DTC's using Torque pro and no errors stored.

Anyone got any idea what could be causing this fault.
