Default st170 rs turbo

Hi I could do with a bit of advice ive been offered a slightly damaged focus ST170 and was wondering if the engine would match up to my RS turbo cvh gearbox ,as im in need of a new engine in the escort , has anybody ever put a st170 engine into a rs turbo and used the standard box ? or know of any pitfalls and what to look out for that might be tricky ,any help and advice would be much appreciated

The engine will bolt straight up ,you will need to drill out the holes on a cvh flywheel to 11mm and that will fit allowing you to use a rst clutch.only other mod you will need is to the rear of the sump you need to cut the corner off to give room for the inner cv on the escort shaft.when you offer it all up it will make sence

The only main thing I can think of mate is how to deal with the variable timing in the head as they used a specific ecu to control it

Thanks for the wisdom chaps , with regards to the ecu I have the complete focus still as a running car so was hoping to use the complete engine loom and wiring including st170 ecu , in the escort? Was not planning on adding a turbo just yet just keeping it basically stock st170 spec

That will require a lot of work to use the focus ecu.
