anyone used a new fuel tank with the metal swirl pot
got the car up, exhaust off, fuel pump off and fuel tank off,
its ok, doesn't leak and is the original tank, although it has seen better days,
anyone replaced their tank with an aftermarket one that has the metal fuel swirl pot in, and is it any good does it work as the original plastic one thats in the ford tank?
i could clean up the tank but considering a new one as i will be renewing most parts
let me know guys

I used one on my cosworth as I got it and had aero fittings welded on for when I sorted my fuel system. Day it was fitted it surged it's arse off lol had to fit a second fuel pump and swirl pot
Had one on my old RS Turbo running MFi. I still have it in the garage. It worked fine, but I was only running just above standard power.
The RS Turbo also has a fuel accumulator in the bay. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it acts to hold a reserve of fuel in an attempt to stop fuel surge.

yes i understand the swirl pot to stop a fuel surge going round bends, having a look at the original inside of the tank here theres a plastic swirl pot and a friend on here has a new tank but not fitted yet and it has a metal swirl pot looking to do the same thing as the original ford, stop fuel starvation going round bends.
well that settled it, after reading the relies and wanting to save a good tank that doenst cut out on roundabouts, used wire brush to remove surface rust and kurst it.
I'm currently paining the underside, i have stainless steel fuel lines, will be replacing all the brake lines, got stainless steel rear pipes, will save the tank, replace fuel rubber, just struggling to get the wishbones and compensators off, they are quite rusty,
