Hi Guys,

A little help required if you can assist.
I need a new rear bumper on my ST, but annoyingly, the earlier '06 model bumper doesn't come pre painted as a replacement item. ( Panther Black )
The later '06 or early 2007 model ones can come pre painted, but even the Ford bodyshop guy can't ascertain in advance if there's any minimal difference in the parts themselves.

Anyone on here know if all mountings and ancillary fittings for lights etc are identical and up to what age.?

Don't know the answer to your question sorry, my 07 plate st has a repaired bumper, what is the price if a new one out of interest?

I'm getting a good deal through Ford as I damaged it in their car park, but unpainted it still seems to come in at less than £200. So if you have a good mate who can spray it for you, it's only the paint and materials cost on top.

prefacelift models are upto 08' plate. 08 onwards are the facelift bumpers that have the tiny valance similar to that on the RS but not as distinguished. also the fogs/reverse lights are different IIRC but plugs should be the same.

So in theory, a factory painted 'early '07' unit would be a straight fit onto my 2006 registered car.?

 

The plugs may be different. For some reason the loom for the rear lights were changed on the facelift model. Worth a thought just in case.

But surely the lights in my existing bumper will be taken out and installed in the new unit, so the plugs for wiring will be irrelevant.!?!?
