Default MFI vs. EFI

what are the advantages and disadvantages to doing an EFI conversion on my S2?? is it easy to do myself or would a professional be better??? is it expensive??
Also heard alot of people say they have removed their abs system from their S2. again advantages and disadvantages to doin this.

alot of questions from a novice in the world of S2`s
cheers

i doubt you could do the conversion yourself mate, the efi has more control over fuel etc from the ecu, unlike the mfi ecu is just an ingintion and boost ecu, efi can be setup better than mfi from a tuners point of view. but then ive just had mine setup at APT and the fuelling is there up to 21psi, i had to have te fuel pressure mod though.

if i was you, i would get a chip, cam, pace intercooler -31, and go to APT, they will transform your standard car and put a smile on your face!

The abs system can be removed quite easily speak to turbo.jon i think hes knows how to do it, u get a more solid pedal feel with it removed and its shit anyway hardly works on my most s2's anyway!

An EFI set up is a far more accurate way of controlling the engine than the MFI set up. If you get it mapped correctly it should also drive far far better...

i looked into the efi option but instead i went for a cheaper option,(far cheaper) and got very pleasing results,
i bought a boost switch had i put into my charge carrier, linked up to my cold start injector, set up to 8 psi, cold star then clicks in addin more fuel, = allowin more boost, i run up to 21psi, and the car is producing 298 bhp, although that is with hell of alot more money in other area's of the engine

it leans off top end big time,
1 run down a nice long bypass at full boost and temp goes up,
but mainly drive it round on stage 1 boost, @ around 200bhp,
looking into another injector running direct into charge carrier fed direct from tank working on same boost switch as cold start injec.
if this works out am hoping to get near 320+ @ prob 28 psi, but been told ad prob have to get a t3-8 or t4 conversion for the boost,

SWM286's is still MFi and used to run around 27psi and had 286 bhp before it was turned down slightly and it runs brilliantly
