Default Billet diff mount

Hi all,

In process of building my back end up on the saph, anyway fitted everything ok, I fitted a billet diff mount on from msd (original was goosed) The rear anti roll bar is touching or 1mm off the diff mount, surely this isn't normal as there's no way of moving everything forwar, anyone else had this?

Cheers

Have you got countersunk bolts? I believe this was a modification since these were first introduced.

The bolts are the countersunk type, it's the new one piece version, it might be ok, just looks a bit close for comfort, I'll take a pic shortly

If your looking at it with the car jacked up then that is the closest it will be. As suspension compresses the rotation of the bar ends drop the middle section which moves further away from the diff mount
I've just fitted EsCos ARB to mine and it is close.

Did you have 2wd or 4x4 Sapphire one before Dave? How do you find the behaviour of car with the Escos one fitted? Quite 'pointy' at the front or just right?

I was speaking to someone the other day about your car and he wanted to know if the footprints still showed up on the windscreen when it mists up! I said it had probably had a new screen since then!!

Hi Mike
Had 2wd bar before, EsCos bar is Much bigger.....
Not used it in anger yet since fitting 3dr front hubs, GAZ Golds and EsCos rear ARB. I'm at Oulton for trackday next week though so will soon see.
The 3dr hubs raise the front roll centre from out of the ground, so I should have less front end roll to work with the stiffer rear ARB .
Just had rear wheel arches replaced so the cars looking presentable at the moment. never noticed footprints

Yeah, about 3.5 times stiffer than the standard 16mm bar, the Escort one. I've got all three, gone back to the 4wd 18mm size at the moment as I found the Escort one was a bit much with the normal beam. Might try it again now I've improved the rear with bits and bobs.

The 3-door hubs are good, it'll turn in quite a bit sharper with those
