tolerances are in the hanynes manual i believe. there is a kinda wire that you can put on a place you want to know the tolerance. It will become flat and the width stands for a tolerance. I don't know the name of em at the moment.
If you disassembled your engine you probably had something wrong. If something was wrong with the engine i would suggest putting a new on. There is nothing worse then building a engine and destroying it because you reused your pump. How was the oil pressure before the engine got disassembled?

Measure it, put it on, run it check oil pressure if any doubt about the oil pressure bin it and put a new one on. Ofcourse don't let it run too long if you doubt the pressure. There are a lot of topics about oil pressure at idle when hot.
Don't trust a electrical sensor, go for the mechanical onces

You shouldn't need to add "false" oil pressure by adding a different spring. Running it as standard should be plenty and if it's not correct then I would say there is a problem. Adding a different spring may just mask the problem for a short period.

as someone said it could be something else wrong but for the cheap cost of a spring it's worth doing anyway.

IMO That's a poor idea, a CVH at optimum running temperature (say after a half hour drive) will idle around 14psi meaning the oil light will be on all the time at idle... so if you do actually have low oil pressure you would never know.

Why will it be 14psi if the spring holds pressure of 22psi when hot at idle.
