What are your pressures at different rpm's?
Saves a bit of typing. Just had a similar convo on another forum.

If you use a cosworth oil pressure switch too this will come on at around 20psi so sometimes the oil light flickers at idle which is a nice sign as you know the pressure and sensor are all working. If your driving and the oil light comes on at least you still have 20psi at least at that point and get a second or so longer to turn the engine off.
Where as if it was a standard switch at that point it would be very low pressure and more than likely makes more damage than what ever has already happened.
While driving it comes down to many factors like, pump, oil lines and remote setups, filter, etc etc..
as someone said it could be something else wrong but for the cheap cost of a spring it's worth doing anyway.
