Default how to remove chrome plating

Hi Guys
wondering if anybody had any diy tips on how to remove chrome from a part without damaging the part. The part should be yellow passivate so would like to strip and return to the original spec.
any advise greatly appreciated

Not 100% sure but you might have to get it chemically stripped by an electroplaters, this shouldn't damage the part but will remove the plating. If it's flaking already you might be able to remove it by shot blasting.

chrome is too hard for shotblasting chemical stripping is the only way i know of

Get a platers to strip it and then have it plated in zinc pas.

Derby plating or S and T in Bristol depends where you are.
