Default FRST Coilover fitting help

Hey!

Tried putting my new GAZ coilovers on today but had major trouble!

Put the shocks on, had to make a spacer so they didnt move left to right, but thats sorted.

Anyway When i put the wheel on and try to lower suspension to a suitable height the adjuster hits the wheel so i cannot lower it anymore.

Looks like i need a spacer and longer studs so the wheel misses them.

What size spacers and where do i get the longer studs from?

Not even tried the fronts yet

i have 3 door cossie wheels - anyone else had this problem??

Sounds like you have mk3.5 fiesta suspension and hubs in your car.

Regarding longer studs, get mk1 mondeo ones. They fit perfectly and 5mm longer than frst ones. Though would 5mm spacers help you out?

Well you said that you put the coilovers into the hubs and had to make a spacer so they didnt move about. Mk3.5 fiestas having larger diameter shocks and hubs would lead me to believe thats what you are running and im assuming you done your homework and made sure the GAZ coilies came out of a frst. So if the coilies are 100% correct and they rattled inside the hubs, then your initial set up was from a mk3.5.

Regarding wheel spacers, i cant help. My frst was running fk coilies and also 5mm spacers and mondeo mk1 studs, and my 8 x 16" oz mags didnt buff at all.

Must be 3.5 rear bean then

The gaz coilovers are brand new made to order so know they are for mk3.

What's the differences on the beams out of interest?

Cheers for help mate

Oh its just the rear is giving bother??? Sorry i thought the fronts where.

Regarding the beam are you sure it isnt a mk5 fiesta beam?? But even at that im near sure the rear shocks are the same from mk3-5.

Not even tried the fronts yet lol

Thought the rear would be easy!

I've sorted the issue with a spacer to stop the play which my mate fitting them sorted. So you think the mk1 Mondeo studs are longer?

Yeah i read about the mod on the rsoc. Bought one and campared it to a stock frst one and true bill it was 5mm longer, so i test fit it and all was good, so i bought the other 15 afterwards.

So your rear shocks are floating from passenger side to drivers side?? Is there not supposed to be a built in spacer in the shock?? Have you measured the diameter of the fronts incase they did send you an incorrect set?

Where the bottom of the shocks connect at the rear to the hub it's has play left and right so the shocks can slide, the 2mm spacers holds it tight!

Def mk3 coilovers so must be a different beam, how do you tell?

I will order some longer studs and go from there now!

Thanks again mate

Frsjon on here will tell you better what the differences are in the axles. If you look through fiestaturbo, it will explain too.
