Default wipers stopped but motor still going?

Driving earlier in the rain and wipers suddenly stopped. Thought it would be a fuse but once i pulled up i could see the motor was still working?

Before i start stripping it down is this a common fault and has simply separated at a ball joint?

Cheers!

Very likely broken ball joint like you say. Nothing else that can be the problem if the motor is still running. Best to put new bracket, but if your out of money you can also drill through the ball joint and put a bolt in the hole if the bracket is loose and not stiff.

Had this happen with my connect and it was just the linkage underthe scuttle pane, that came loose so just had to tighten it up and sorted
