When was the last time you saw one? Good car to drive, one of Fords most expensive developments, rarer 2.5 V6, 2.0 4X4 or even one with a full official RS stamped accessory factory fitted kit on it?
I think rarity will ensure it. Although not the most exciting Ford ever, they really were a massive step forward for Ford, and probably raised the bar for cars like that generally.
Don't see them too often now really, so there will be so few left so they'll become collectable to a limited extent.
Great cars I always wanted one when I had passed my driving test as I used to strip them with my step dad as a kid, all of the v6's we had in to strip were all 70k or less with head gasket gone and some of those we picked up for less than Ł100 at the time! Lots of people strip them for the 2.0l silver top to chuck in smaller hatchbacks as most know, I think this is why scorpios are getting rare too as everyone is using them to chuck the Cosworth v6 in capris sierras etc, generally the mk1 and 2 mondeos are great cars, only real problem with the mk1 was the headlight filters if you didn't have a v6 and the mk2's were faultless except for the diesels which we had problems with all of them smoking on acceleration
I remember my first one, going from old mk3 escorts and orions it was like driving somethin out of this world. Still like them now lovely cars to go on a long journey. Clutch change is a bastard especially when the captive nuts for subframe spin in the chassis but otherwise good cars. And my saph Cossie is citrine yellow
