Default MK5 strip out advice

Hi all - First time posting on passion fords so a little intro.

had a few MK5s in the past and a few other brands to. love a bit of modifacation and i have some mechanical backround.

ive just bought a Mk5 1.2 as i just can keep away from the fezzas but this is going to be my toy and i plan to drop a puma or if im feeling brave maby a 2ltr.

the current engine is only on 60k so i am going to get some milage out of it before doing the swap but in the meantime i plan on fiddiling with a few other bits.

what i need help with is the interior strip out. i want everything out so im left with basic controlls and 2 seats.

has anyone done this and if so can you give any advice and what have you done with the clocks and what if any units are out their that i can plug and play without to much fuss.

any help on this guys ???

Yeah I spotted your post.. Looks like you had a fun day.

TBH I don't think I'll have a problem actually stripping it. Its more changing the speedo over to a better looking unit as I don't have a clue what I can use in place of the original. And having fun hiding all the wires... I'm starting to think its not worth the hassle and just live with the standard dash/clocks

Also if you want the dash out to strip everything out from behind it you need a t25 screwdriver, t25 sockets are to big to fit in the little holes across the top of the dash.
Also on the dash its held in a few points 4 big bolts either side of the dash t50 iirc and 3 t25s arcoss the top of the dash 4 t50s in the middle of the dash under the center console and two iirc 10mm bolts just under the steering wheel.

Speedos are easy changed over in less than 10 mins theres only 12 + screws you have to remove. The dashboard is abit of a pain cause once you undo it you have to pull it down and towards you the pull all the loom of the dash.

Dashboards came iirc in three colours blue grey and black.
clocks came in black and white.
clock surround came in sliver and black.

all interchangeable and all pritty simple to swap over with the dash beening the hardest.

Also if you want the dash out you have to remove the steering column which is very easy iirc theres two 13mm nuts holding it where the speedo is and one 13mm bolt under the dash. When you get under the dash you will either just see the one at the bottom next to the pedals or both, you need to undo the upper bolt and once its out turn the steering wheel around so you see the nut on the other side, mits incased in a little metal holder with a bit of metal holding it in, just pull the thin metal spring thing back and you will see the nut and holder move remove it and the steering column will now just pull out.
