Default Audi and Volvo interbreeding question...

Hey chaps a while ago I wrote up a thread about being arrested in my saph by a lady cop who had amplified hearing and thought I was on my way back to the future. Charge was Dangerous driving without any actual radar reading. After plenty of sums and lawyers bills later the charge was down graded and I got off with a fine. Soo I took it apon myself to sell the cossie mainly because I could not help provoking it everywhere I went
Being I New Zealand we still have all sorts of odd cars hanging on to life and having owned all the jappas that go fast and steer from the rear I picked up this beastie cheap..

Went well with a boost tap, but was let down by early flappy AFM which let in limited air

one owner 760 Turbo from 1984, 4spd with laylock o/d! Early B23ET engine which has factory forged crank and pistons garrett T3 Turbo only 100000miles.
side of the car was promptly written off by a drunk driver(still a driver)... so I replaced it with this...

1991 Volvo 940 turbo B230ft with lil mitsi turbo, auto actually goes very welll. Have put on a better inlet system and 2.5 inch exh with boost tap quite surprised at the go. Will change it to a manual using the gearbox from the 760 in the near future and possibly the better garrett turbo and in the future the forged engine.

If your still reading then you like myself probably have plenty of spare time on your hands which leads me to a question. Which like the above doesn't really belong on passion ford haha. The passions there but im saving for a house

I have spotted this audi on our local Ebay type thing hope this link works:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used...-697594266.htm

And after really wanting a S2 Audi and missing out on it I wondered if the audi from above uses the same 5 cylinder engine block as a fwd Volvo T5r as I can get those for cheap over here as well. The audi is Quattro with locking diffs but with asthmatic 10v 5 cyl engine, I assume the drive train is well up to a 20v 5cyl turbo engine out of the Volvo if it would bolt up to the audi manual gearbox. I have done a lot of conversions before but only with lego cars like Toyotas where most things go together. I realise there is ALOT more to the conversion but if the Volvo engine and audi drive train worked together that is the first major step. Any input welcome, feel free to wind me up I probably deserve it for at the end of the day I miss the way the cossie went and want to make a car as fast for labour and less money.... kev

I know audi diesel engines fit in the 850s but there fwd. Also if you want the 760 gearbox to fit on the 940 you will need a gearbox adaptor plate.I used a have a few t5s and s40 t4s and looked into making my s40 t4 rwd using the 760 gearbox.Maybe you could chop the gearbox flange off the 940 and have it welded to the 760 gearbox

Or even stick the whole 760 engine into the 940 because the 760 engine is a rare beast and they throw out massive power when tuned right
