Default Hydraulic conv T5 bell housing question

Mines away at the fabricators but i want to double check before they carry on with the work

Is their any clearance issues with the tunnel, I've seen some mill in to the housing for the rod to pass though but when i measured it all up it didn't appear to need it which made me think was their a clearance issue?

Pics if you have please

Ive not put mine in the tunnel yet, but I fitted my slave as close to the box as possible, which meant the rod pretty much touched the bellhousing, so I just filed a few mm out to make sure it didnt touch. I figured if it didnt fit in the tunnel then I would make it fit with the aid of a lump hammer....

I bought my kit with the fitting in the clutch arm already so they are going to dummy up and see where the slave goes then mount the extra metal to suit but my kit came out of an escos with T5 but don't know if their is any difference at all between tunnel, I know they were based on Sierra floor but you never know

The kit i have is Reyland but i didn't get the bell housing, but i'm sure once its all mocked up it will be fine

This is my box which once the slave is rested on touches the gearbox part so i'm not sure what benefit milling into to the housing would achieve

I had the reyland conversion on my old 3dr, but it wasnt a cosworth shell just a gl.

So not sure of any size difference but i did have to persuade the tunnel with a lump hammer!

Why not use the centre push hydraulic clutch conversion? Isn't this better?

I don't like center push kits as the bearings don't seem to cope with the high pressure plates. I would rather sacrifice looks and maybe some smooth/lightness, to not have to take the box out if there is a problem.

Useless plus the external way is easy just making sure it's not going to have clearance issues

Centre push kits are shit I no some one who has gone through 5 bearings with his ap clutch! There not made for heavy clutch covers as there standard bearings taken from other cars and adapted. I'm going to order a rayland kit for mine nearer the summer when I get really cracking on mine

Ive had this one in combo with 750Nm AP twin plate clutch for a couple of years now. No problems yet.

http://www.apracing.com/product_deta...59_family.aspx

Got to use real quality parts, not cheap shit parts from china.

You will have tunnel clearance issues if you don't machine the belhousing, plus you're effectively altering the leverage by running the cyl further out.

My 500 runs a heavy cover with my centre push and as most people probably know I do some serious miles in my car when I use it, amount of problems.... Zero
