Default Just thought id show some of my critters

Hi people i thought id show you my critters as im bored with nothing to do

Anyone that doesnt like them please refrain from saying stuff like 'id stamp on em' and shit like that. I appreciate alot of people dont like stuff like this but they are my pets and you wouldnt like someone telling you that they would kill your cat or dog now would you? Id rather have no comnents than negative ones. Anyway heres smithi and sly.

I have some babys too but no pics atm. Hope you like

Fair play to you mate - but not for me ! Saying that, I'd take one of those any day over a snake. The only good snake is a dead one in my book !

They are very intelligent animals - I watched a programme not long back on Animal Planet about them, amazing how they've evolved ! Have to admire them for surviving !

Not for me either buts its nice to have different pets.
Me and the wife have 2 house bunnies.

I dont know how any sick bastard can kill pets. I will be honest with you I never kill spiders that are in the house. I catch them then put them outside. The only animal I kill are dirty flys. Ffs I hope there isnt anyone on here that keeps flys as pets lol.

Oh my god!
Had I known there were spiders in this thread I wouldn't have clicked, however, I did feel compelled to look at all the pics and not just click 'back'.

Tbh, I don't find them as hard to look at as horrid, ugly, spiders that aren't neccessarily big and hairy. And also I know I'm not likely to come across a tarantula.

I had a spider in my bedroom last year that was about the size of a 50p, if that, and I didn't sleep in there for 2nights!

I tell ya im in noway afraid of spiders and always lived them but wen i got my first one smithi (first pic) it took me ages to handle her and even wen i did the adrenaline i was feeling was insane. I dont get it anymore unless they are in a bad mood or i do anything with sly. Shes a fully grown very stroppy chille rose the size of my hand and damn fast! Shes a 'docile' specise but shes 6 inches of pure hate from chille lol. Cant handle her atal

Don't mind looking at them, even up close but handling one no way!!!!!

Not my cup of tea but I certainly wouldn't try stamping on one.

I like your comment about that and them being your pets.

They easy to look after?

Nice Tarantulas. I used to have a Chile Rose who was great to handle and never had an issues with her. My Red knee was hit or miss. Sometimes fine but other times would flick hairs and man they itch!! I have also kept snakes. Biggest being a 7ft Red tailed Boa.

Thanks guys. Yea i dunno whats up with the chille. Shes just cranky lol. The red knee is good as gold.

Yea they are reslly easy to keep. Just keep them warm and feed them once a week. A water bowl sorts out the humidity and you dont even have to pick up there poo as they dont poo!

I do like snakes but just not my thing. Id be more worried about a snake on me than any spider

I held a tarantula once when i was young and stupid and let it walk across my hands as i was told the bite was no worse than a bee sting because it was quite young.

Do you think they recognise you like a dog does its owner? I know next to nothing about them

Yea most ts have a mild bite like a bee sting but its unlikly to be bitten as they give warning signs like threat poses, kicking hairs and beating your fingers with their front legs. You would have to egnore those warnings to get bitten.

I think they do reconise you yea by smell. Sone would disagree as there is so much contravercy in the hobby. One says one thing and someone else says another. Its just wether the spider allows you to be close to them enough to get to know that you are not a threat

My mrs was a complete aracnaphobe but i got the first one and she slowly warmed to them. She now will happyily feed and water them (apart from the chille) she says shes still scared of wild spiders tho lol.

Yea ive been bitten by the red knee (first pic) but it was my own fault. I went to push a cricket closer to her as a mate was round and i wanted him to see her grab it and wham she got me. Its wasnt that bad it just stung and i got abit of a headache after. The next day she was on my hand and wondering about good as gold

Cool pics.

I went to buy a car with a mate and the guy owned a small exotic pet shop. He had a load of spiders and i did enjoy watching them. He had a bird eating spider though and it was very aggressive. All the tarantulas were fine with you near their tanks but the bird eater was literally up for agro, really lairy.

I actually don't mind the look of a tarantula even though I don't like spiders. I would honestly rather handle a tarantula than one of those house spiders we get in at the end of summer, just something about the way they move.
