Default Anti-Freeze Question

Is it okay to use the red coloured anti-freeze in a 1989 RS Turbo engine? This is all the local Ford dealer seems to stock near me. I'm unsure as to whether it's only used in newer cars??? Always had the blue anti-freeze before

Any advice appreciated

Thanks

I'm having a similar problem.
When the water pump was changed, the guy put turquoise/blue/green stuff in and all they sell around here is pink!! Ford parts dept told me not to mix them, as they gel up

Just flush the system out and use whatever you want!

Ive never heard of antifreeze gelling up - i think thats a scarestory!!

Generally Blue is ethelene glycol and Red is OAT (organic antifreeze technology)
If you mix the two - they cancel each other out!!

Some red antifreeze is methanol - very cheap but pretty crap.
Not many places stock this stuff now as it only has a 1 year life.
