Default changing heater blower motor

Hi all.
Does anyone know how to change heater blower motor on mk6 fiesta?
Mine seems to be failing. Haynes manual seems to recommend stripping out all of the dash, but I have read on this forum that some have been able to do it quite easily without needing to rebuild the dash.

I have located where motor is, after removing glovebox and fusebox the motor seems to be above pollen filter.
Only thing is plastic tubing for vents is in the way, I have found the screw for the tubing for the far left vent but it does not come free...

Any ideas?

I did put up a how to from ETIS on this a few weeks back, never done it myself though.

If you search my old posts you may find it.

Thanks for responding. I found your post:

Remove the glove box.

Detach the central junction box from the bulkhead and lay it to one side.

Unscrew and remove the bolt from the defrost air duct.

Remove the defrost air duct.

Disconnect the blower motor connector. (replace fuse with motor disconnected to rule out that in the circuit)

Detach the air intake flap actuation cable.

Remove the air intake flap.

Remove the blower motor.

Reinstall the components in reverse order.

Not ever so clear on what the defrost air duct is, do you have any more information on how to remove it?

The link you've posted is the same as the ETIS procedure I have access to, no more info that I can see, I would guess the defrost air duct is what's directed at the screen?

OK thanks.

The illustration seems to show the dash removed to access the duct.that's a shame, I have read posts saying that it only takes 20 minutes to do
Seems more involved now...

I think that's just for illustration purposes.

It must be, as I say -I've not done one. If the dash had to be removed it would say on the procedure, and have a hyperlink to the dash removal.

Hooray.
Thanks for the advice, attempted it this afternoon and succeeded.

So with a new resistor I have 4 fan speed settings again and with the new motor the fan blows much more powerfully.

Only problem now is I think the switch must not be working properly as I have to hold it between 3 and 4 setting to get full power!

Any ideas what could be the problem?

Thanks.
