About time too m8,will keep my eyes peeled for that feature.
i just bought mine- 1990 s2 in red, no welding, fully waxoyled (only rust is a bit on bottom of windscreen where some sod replaced the screen and must have damaged the paint), its running 208bhp and is solid. interior is mint too. i paid 3k. also had a full mot. body is standard, quite a little street sleeper..........

Mine has not seen weld either
It's all about taking ur time and searching.....In my experience Ive had luck looking up north

yea, quite a few go there, think its summit to do with if the drainage tube inside the wing hasnt been doin its job properly, all the water and moisture just collects in the bottom of the outer wing and rots
Of course there is such things. Mk3/4's arent as bad as everyone makes out!
My cabriolet is a 1984 and has never had any welding done as a result of corrosion. The looked after ones won't have been welded, but will have the higher price tags.

mines had loads of welding
dont bother me in the slightest cops it was cheap as fu*k
(both of em)
least a escort isnt a write off just cos of welding, now mk3 fiestas are another story, when they go they go in a big way!
personally i'd just get a tidy example for sensible money then put the extra wedge into making it better how you want it or build 1 from a minter 1.3 shell and a rotter replacing everything you want to during the build
