Default Mondeo Zetec S

Well i have not been on for a while and for my sins i have been out of a Ford for a while, had a 206 gti 180 and an MG ZS 180, not bad cars, well i lie the 206 was an awful car but went and handled well shame about the build quality.

Anyways i am back in a ford and i am so happy. I have bought myself a 02 Mondeo Zetec Saloon in medium steel blue with 68k, all it needs is 2 front anti roll bar links which i will be replacing this week.

I have had it for 4 days now and i forgot how nice they are to drive. Hope you all like. It needs a good clean so i will be taking more pics when it is done.

If I was you I would remove the imrc from the top of your cam cover and relocate it to the battery tray. Tjese get hot off the engine and dont work as good.

imrc is the control module for your inlet valve flaps.

I take it these have the same old 2.5 v6 and intake system as the mk2? And not a tuned down version of the st220's Newer 3.0 and intake?

I used to have a diesel 53 plate zs, just found a petrol 02 plate with 54k on, could be good for a winter runabout. Expect another zs thread to pop up if I buy it!

My old one did the same,I was told the wheels were bad for pitting on the rim and most were the same in the local tyre place.

Some bead sealer solved it anyway.

Do like a Zetec-s

That was a big part in why i liked it as it was a saloon, i think they have a better look than the hatchbacks.

Great cars these I have an st24 as my project at the moment. Not many people go for mondeos but I think they are brilliant cars and the v6 sounds pretty good too when you open it up

Mk3's seem to suffer with a hard life. I had the same problem, all the mk3's round my way in my price bracket were very tired. I wish i could have found a tidy v6.

Get yourself an induction kit and decent exhaust to really open up the v6!

Well, that's the fun part...!
They do like to lift-off oversteer in the wet....

I did the rear subframe bushes over the summer, poly-bushed them and the back end is so much tighter now! The original ones were wrecked though...!
