There's a brown substance in my water tank any idea what the hell it is??????? It's come out of the top even though the top is sealed. I'm about to clean out the radiator??? help please!!

Head gasket gone by the sounds of it

 

Brown water? oh dear. If the car has been run on plain water (eg: no antifreeze) then it could be rust in the rad turning the water brown.
I'd flush the system out, refill with antifreeze/water and see what happens.

If the water is oily, or if your oil is contaminated THEN worry about yr head gasket!

As said, either rust or Oil, hopefully not the latter, has it been overheating at all ??

 

I remeber my first car, little Fiat Uno.... I didn't have the first clue about cars then, so I checked rad level and it was low, so topped it up with just water - probably had no coolant or antifreeze, whatever in it at all. Next time I checked it there was all this brown shit in it that actually did look like someone hand taken a crap in my header tank

Turned out to be rust from the inside of the rad gone all gloopy and looked like lots of poo
