Default Focus RS mk1 Aftermarket Water Temp Gauge

What have you guys done? Ive got a mate who is not happy with there not being a water temp gauge in his focus as standard.

Anybody got any pics of alternatives to standard?

Don't have one. 18k miles in the 18 months, between 60 and 600 miles a week depending on where I'm working. No problems.

Being a more modern ford, it has a fail safe cooling system. Where when the engine management detects an over heating issue. It illuminates a warning light. Engages limp mode and will only let you drive for a limited time. Then the engine will shut Down to save a failure.
Much more important for this type of car is inlet charge air temp because there is no fail safe for increased inlet temp . I.e charge cooler pump failure. Which can cause detonation .

Scangauge idea is the best, there's a German site that sells something similar too which is configurable for any parameters from the OBD socket.

I've got one of these plumbed into the top hose and a Scangauge too, would say the Scangauge is good enough on its own but the gauge was on the car when I bought it
