Yep you can walk round it, its being restored by all accounts. The building in the back ground is the night club off 51st State.

German submarine U534 is also based there. It is the only German sub to be raised from the seabed after being sunk by the Allies. She was almost certainly the last U Boat to leave Germany and her sinking, on May 5 1945, marked the end of the Battle of the Atlantic.
