Berthed at Corn Warehouse Quay, East Float Dock, Wallasey are two historic Falklands' veterans, the frigate HMS Plymouth and the submarine, HMS Onyx.

German submarine U534 is also based there. It is the only German sub to be raised from the seabed after being sunk by the Allies. She was almost certainly the last U Boat to leave Germany and her sinking, on May 5 1945, marked the end of the Battle of the Atlantic.
