Default ST225 Sensor on O/S Wishbone

My car has a linkage from the OS front wishbone. It links to a sensor. Can anyone tell me what this sensor is? The linkage is creaking like mad.

Is it a calibrated item? If I remove the linkage from the wishbone to exercise it, will I scramble the electronics (with or without the ignition on)??

Cheers folks,

BM

I'm think this is for the ESP if I'm not mistaken.

Just remove the bolt from the wishbone then give the balljoints a good spray of wd40 and work it up and down until it stops sqeeking then reattach.

The sensor on the wishbone is for the headlight auto adjust to keep it at the correct height. The osr has one also for the same.
ESP works off the wheel speed sensors.

As above, it's for cars with Xenon lights, controls the self-levelling.

Excellent folks. Thank you very much. I assume that as long as i leave the ignition off i won't upset the calibration. Has anyone else got a creaky link?!
