My car has a linkage from the OS front wishbone. It links to a sensor. Can anyone tell me what this sensor is? The linkage is creaking like mad.

Is it a calibrated item? If I remove the linkage from the wishbone to exercise it, will I scramble the electronics (with or without the ignition on)??
