Cool well done for saving it. Is the colour crystal blue by any chance? If so very rare to find one in this colour as it was only available last few months of production in 1986.
As already stated above the colour of that is rare, I to have acquired a Capri for my dad as he's a capri nut not sure what he will be doing with it either same as you or strip and sell i'll post up as soon as I know as you may be interested in parts if he strips it

I thought it was crystal blue but not sure and will have to check lol be nice if it is a rare colour though to make it a bit more special, and the old owner said the Capri club valued it and said it was worth a bit because it was one of the last ones built, not sure how true it is until he finds the valuation he had done, and Doga-ot yeah will be interested in bits if he does split it, but I vote he saves it lol cheers for the replies I have done more but need to get some pics
Doga ot, if he does split I'm after a 1.6 back axle. But hopefully it gets saved!
Rostill, I would say it's crystal blue which is rare, only similar colour was Paris blue but that's a lot lighter. I had a crystal blue 2.0 laser on an e plate one of the last, but sadly spares only as was rotten. Look forward to seeing progress on this one.

Colour code on the slam panel says kristall Blau
happy chap now lol and trigger the house is a state tbh the guy is well old though an has put it for sale to get a bungalow, one of the reasons he sold me the car as everyone else that has knocked the door has been turned away, also might have something to do with the fact the Capri club apparently valued it at £700 and that's what he told them he wanted, I didn't pay that much though lol will update more pics Tuesday when I do some more work on it, cheers for all the interest everyone

@mojo it was in a little crescent on castle brom, funny enough it still is lol I know where there's another one now aswel lol and my gearbox is a 5 speed an seems to be ok at the minute but I may have the carb and manifold off you if mine turns out to be buggered but haven't tried to start it yet so don't know, I will be in touch though if I need one
used to love driving past yours on the way to work to look at the Orion and the 'Tina lol only noticed it on the off chance stopped at the lights
@bigyrs be good to see a resto thread when you start on it not enough Capri threads on this forum I find, progress has been slow today if I'm honest due to a bereavement in my gfs family but I did do a little bare metalling the inner wings until I realised my new compressor don't cut the mustard for a spot blaster and the drill I was using the wire wheel on died but anyways here's a couple of pics of the headlamp bowl and a couple of rust patches that need attention,

Lol " aww shit son" that orion is famous! i've had loads of people come up to me asking about it, i suppose living on a main road and bus route doesn't help lol. Its on the walkathon route too which don't help. i get new admirers every year! haha. Nice find though, i stripped a capri that came into work one time, it could've been saved, but not by me so i just unbolted anything i could. a mate had the recaro seats, i sold the rest of the interior and dash parts on ebay, the axle went through word of mouth and the pinto was only a 1.6 so i left that with the car. i took the front clip for the 'tina which i still have, but the gearbox and carb assemble are surpluss.
Cool though on the parts, i'm in New zealand at the moment though so they're no use to me, if you need them let me know cos i'll let my dad know and you can have them. they're doing nothing. maybe buy him a pint for hauling them out of the back lol. Good luck with it though. Nic eot see one being saved regardless. and especially since its turned out to be a rare one.
Joe.

Updates

Made a patch for the back end of the drip rail

Coated the part that overlaps the front half with underseal, reason for this is when it's plug welded the under seal melts and spreads around the weld to stop rust coming back after instead of just using weld through primer really for my own peace of mind

Test fitted it before finally welding on an packing up for the day, forgetting anymore pics lol
Then I got sent a pic of this for inspiration dunno who's it is but it's perfect IMO

And done a little bit more today welded up this patch

Didn't get an after pic because I was tryin to beat the rain which started just as I cut out the scab on the strut tower grrr and left the car looking like this

Wish I could get more done but I spend to much time rolling round in one of these lol

Anyways I'll update more as an when I do bits on it
