passed my test last year, got a metro and a job but then seen the car i always wanted and i managed to buy it - although can't insure it yet as i'm only 20 (21 soon) so my dad is going to take care of it in the mean time, there is some little jobs to do but nothing major, i pick it up on Thursday.

hi, the car may of been from dundee at one point, but i got it from the west midlands.

I'll be shopping about for insurance, where did you insure the FRST?

 

A lot of people on here seem to get there cars insured with need2insure, might be worth giving them a try?

 

Found abit of spec inside the folder that came with the car.

superchip 185 and uprated actuator
piper 285t2 cam
anti pump ford motorsport valve lifters
pipercross induction kit
bailey motorsport dump valve
custom built one off 4 inch stainless exhaust
8mm performance ht leads
race spec spark plugs

 

 

Not a bad looking car, a bit of work here and there and fitting missing trim/parts and replacing painted part(s) and a silver rocker cover.

I've got the belt cover, not long did the head gasket on it, but left it off as i ordered new belt/tensioner, i havent got the rubber that goes around the heater surround though, and the red motor cover will be cleaned off to its original colour.

got a few thing to do like replace the fuel pump rubbers (3 little stud type) if i can find a good size replacement, then got to do some under the bonnet

 

I got a few of them for my mates S2.They are off the ford tranny connect turbo/inlet hoses that go over the cam cover.They hold the pipes to the cam cover.

 

Cheers Glenn, will definatley check them out, just the seats to go in, put the pulley plastic back on and im sure there is more i can not think of.

 

Got most of it back together, fuel pump on, just need some interior bits now, spot lights, headlight protectors and some more goodies.



Just got to polish it again so i can try remove the polish off the black bits

 

Spotlights fitted, interior fitted back in, timing belt cover back on, battery cover purchased for Ł1.50 and now got 12 months MOT, although wont be doing any miles yet.

I finally got it on the road and got rid of the tacky delocked doors, left the bootlid as is though. :

 

Its doing well its still being used every day

Its been off the road since may 2017 but due to go back on when finished, its had a fair bit of work, and engine work too, should be back out soon, it does have one passionford sticker on drivers side rear window, i have to get another for the other side.

 

Nice to see the thread come back alive, nice looking cars these and going up in value I think
