AFAIK, the World Record is held by a 1960's VW Beetle that has covered 1,500,000 Miles on the original Engine and Gearbox. That was a few years ago that I read that, so may have been beaten now.
AFPMSL @ that Golf. Also, why buy a fleet of R32's?? Hardly the most practical thing are they??

Never thought a Ford could have such a long life span .[/quote]ur rite it cant they have VW engines
My Transit has done 1/4 million.
In it's lifetime it has had...
1 cam shaft and thrust plate
1 starter motor
4 exhaust valve guides
2 front wheel bearings
2 rear springs
2 front shockers and ball joints
1 battery
2 clutches
A company we use as a supplier had a Transit with a full service history on a wall chart which totalled over a million miles before they scrapped it with a rotton body..

where i worked at yorkshire traction, about 10 months since, we had a Mk2 MCW bus - on the original Gardner 180 engine, had done a shade over 2 million miles when totaled up - all out abuse and hammering from day 1 aswell
