Shiping container workshop idea
Hi all, had an idea for a while, about using a 20ft shipping container for all my tools, work area and part storage, and wondered if it had any floors in the idea? As I plan on emmigrating to canada once I have done my apprenticeship and gained experience, I thought it would be good as It would all be contained in one place. It's also secure, so no dangers of break-ins And I could transport it where ever. Can anyone see any problems with the idea at all? I only want to use it for storage btw. And a second hand one is around 1500 quid

Condensation can be almost resolved with a spray insulation on to the inside of the roof, make sure it either has or gets some fresh air vents, and keep them uncovered. Used to do a lot of work for a storage company, they did the above to all theres.
Maybe a ply lining could stop it too.

The office ones would be ok, z little more expensive but have lights etc in already and insulated and boarded. I priced one a few weeks back and it was 1200 for 20ft one

A mate of my old mans has just got 2 44 footers. Stood them side by siide and cut the sides out. Weighed that in and welded the 2 up to make a big one. Not seen it yet but will get pics when i get down his yard
Make sure you up the security on the door. They are very easy to get into by either taking the door off or cutting the brackets that your locks go onto.
They echo like mad inside when your banging so insulation would sort that aswell as the condensation.
