Default Fiesta tdci 1.6 problem

Ok so the problem is a squeak at idle, been to the dealer and they put a new fan belt on it apparently. Anyhow, squeak still there. I've since saw on the ZSOC forum that a guy had his water pump replaced and that solved his squeak.

Now what do I have to say to them to get them to investigate the water pump as I live around 120 miles from the dealer and work away so it's not as simple as just popping in and out every day or two.

Anyone on here had experience with this or know much about it?

Car is a 59 plate Zetec S with 25,000 on the clock

Cheers, Paul

just say you read that there was another car with the noise and it was the water pump that was the problem but maybe better to call first?

Water pumps do squeek on them however changing the pump doesn't always fix it. Its a known issue with ford not yet sure if they have solved this issue. One at my old work had Four pumps fitted! Solved it for a few weeks then it came back. Worth contacting Ford about it

Yeah I'd like to speak to a DECENT ford tech but I just can't bring myself to trust them?

So basically I'm fingered as some of these cars do it and some don't?

What's the other common issues with these engines then folks?

common problems? lol

lubrication problems that destroy turbos,
for the warranty on a new turbo:
new injector seals/refurb`d injectors
remove sump and replace oil pump
clean oil galleries throughout engine
replace oil filter
replace turbocharger and all oil pipework

EGR issues
wiring issues
ECU issues
and waterpumps just like like this one

other than that the Pug engine is a good little unit

Thanks for this mate, I just don't like how the techs at ford have to be spoken to through someone, I'll speak to them and see if I can get them informed of this water pump malarkey!
