Default Hart inlet ? 4x4 inlet , rs500 inlet ?

Hi all ,

I'm looking to rebuild my cossie lump and know rough spec I'm going for
Around 450bhp and hopefully same torque .

Which inlet best ?

Burton power do rs500 inlet with throttle body or hart/auto specialist inlet

I have Been offered a hart manifold and seems the big power cars use them

For that power all 3 would be ok. If u got big money to spend get rs500 as direct fit no messing around and added benefit of bigger throttle body. If u want a cheaper inlet that flows better than 500 when going for big power 500+ then hart is what u need but a bit of messing around to fit them. Another alternative is small turbo escort inlet, flow 500hp and can be had for £200.

Hart is a good bit of kit Burtons do a pipe that replaces and solves the problem of the PAS piggy tail pipe fouling the throttle body

you only have that issue with 2wd and early 4x4 depending on the car brake lines may need a bit of modding to fit

Hart threads are crap

A ST Escos inlet will do 450bhp all day long, it depends on how much further you want to go

The Hart inlet is really good you do get a few issues fitting them but there are way rounds them.
Here's the my thread back in 2010 when I fitted mine:

if you want one that works at 450 all the three mentioned will be OK.

You ask which is best the Hart is on a different planet & will flow over 850bhp. The RS500 is out of puff around 750bhp.

nothing for me as I had them at work and only took me half hour! And to be fair people have fitted that inlet with no probs at all I don't know if they quote an exact torque for the bolts buts its probably over tightening that strips the threads anyway
