Mondeo ST TDCi Starting issue
Hi, I have a 2005 ST TDCI which has now covered 102k which has started to develop a small issue, when I start the car it runs for 5-10 seconds at around 500 rpm, if i press the throttle nothing happens until the revs speed up and then runs perfectly fine again.
It seems worse when I don't wait for the glow plug light to go out which makes me wonder if it is the plugs but it does happen sometimes even after waiting for the light to go out.
There's no fault lights on either, has anybody else ever had this?.
Here it is next to my Cortina.

I had this exact problem, mine only did it if it wasn't the first start of the day ( cold ) spoke to Fords and there is a later level engine ecu program released.
Cost me about Ł60 but cured it fine.
