from wat i can tell its the outer pad catching but its not a constant scratching sound more like an on off at a certain point in revolution of the wheel, i did notice wen the car was parked up at work that theres a start stop line on the disc where the pad could be catchin, and noticed tonite being it hasnt got ABS .

i can tell its nippy tho my last 2 cars mk2 golf had 55hp and ibiza had 60hp lol tho the golf was built like a tank

what would be an ideal drop for this, i dont do car sitting on the floor look like people in the VW scene and not too keen on coilovers for everyday use, my old ibiza was sat on the floor on coilovers and lasted 2 hrs before i went back to standard suspension

engine bay a little dirty, fitted a universal air filter I had from my last car to see what is like, had to remove the MAF from the air box to be able to use it as the engine would just cut out if wasn't there

got rid of that airfilter now

doing some indicator mods by fitting some 501 (T10) bulb holders connected either to the ignition or side lights

these were from a scrap yard as a test

then as I burnt out 3 heater resistors and could be down the motor so got it out stripped down and greased up, fingers crossed it will have solved the problem

smoke from the brand new resistor before blower removal

blower is running

I tried another resistor I manage to get at the scrap yard and that didn't smoke, after I greased up the motor I tested it and the resistor in the pic didn't start to smoke up as quick, gonna have a proper look 2mora

I had the issue with the blower resistor, my focus would eat them for fun.

the issue is the actual blower motor, or rather rusty bearings in the motor not the resistor. in fact its part of another issue.

if the pollen filter cover isn't fitted correctly (black plastic cover round the wipers), water leaks into the cabin and into the blower motor, causing rusty bearings in the motor itself

actually, if you look at the pic of your blower motor you can see it's knackered - probably through water ingress, so no amount of greasing it will cure your issue

What happens is, as the blower tries to work, with knackered bearings, it causes a power surge, which then blows the blower motor resistor.

I ended up buying a new blower motor off ebay, once i fitted that the problem was resolved.

But there orange ? How can you tell if your indicating with the side lights on?

You need to get clear indicator lenses and orange indicator bulbs. Then would look cool

I have taken the smaller box off of the side of the air box as seen in your pic, have no idea what it's ment to be for but it's made the car sound "k&n"ish .

Yeah same here , most cars have the equivalent of "vtec" but you don't hear about nearly half as much as these sideways cap wearing baggy arsed trouser Honda fan boys go on about there "vtec yo" ! There all bloody noise , couldn't pull themselves out of a puddle they lack that much torque lol
